Every Man Remembered - Heritage Open Day Event

Saturday, 15 September 2018 - Church of St Mary the Blessed Virgin, Warmington - 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

The lives of the 135 men named on the Roll of Honour have been researched and military records printed where possible.  (About 60% of WW1 records were destroyed in 1940 during the Blitz which is why they are not all available)  This is your opportunity to view short biographies of the men and their military records.  You may wish to order a copy for yourself, with a small charge for each page to cover costs.  Perhaps you will light one of 135 candles in remembrance.  There will be a variety of second-hand books on WW1 and WW2 on sale.  Registers of Electors for Warmington from 1918 to 1931 and the 1939 Register will be available and there will be a variety of displays.

This is a unique opportunity to remember these men who served in WW1.  For any visitor, this is a chance to reflect on life in a village during WW1, through the families who lived here.

Refreshments will be available in church.
