VE75 at Warmington

VE Day

At 11.00 am on 8 May 2020, a small group of five or six stood at the Warmington war memorial.  Another would have attended but was unable to walk there.  It was a hot day, the sky was blue, the air was still and there was utter silence.  The road was closed but there was little traffic.  The church was shut but an Act of Remembrance took place.  Three names were read out.  But what they heard was "the Voice of Angels".

'Let us remember before God, and commend to his sure keeping, those who have died for their country in war, those whom we knew, and whose memory we treasure; and all who have lived and died in the service of humanity.'
