The earliest recorded marriage is in 1631 and the latest is in 2020 – a span of 389 years.
Where cells are blank it is either because the information was not recorded or the entry has faded to a point where it is unreadable or it is unintelligible.
OTP means “of this parish”.
For many years it was the convention that the wedding took place in the parish of the bride.
Prior to 1754 births, baptisms, marriages and deaths were recorded as the parish saw fit.
In 1753 the Marriage Act required everyone to marry in an Anglican church.
In 1812 the information printed in registers was standardised.
Civil registration began in 1837.
